We are recruiting for a Commis Chef to join our Chef Brigade at Bents! Do you want to work in an environment serving freshly made exceptional high-quality products every day, have a passion for food and want a great work/life balance? Then this is the job for you!
As our Commis Chef within our Chef Brigade you'll have a vital role in supporting our Chef Brigade in the production of our freshly made food to serve across our 1000-seater Dining areas. Whether preparing your area, chopping vegetables, making the perfect pasta sauce or cleaning down your area, you will be at the heart of a busy Chef Team.
Your daily role will include:
- Preparing and chopping fresh food ingredients.
- Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately.
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene.
- Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation.
- Basic cooking under supervision.
Our ideal Commis Chef will have the below skills and experience:
- This role would be ideal for a hardworking, disciplined team player with a lot of stamina who possesses a friendly personality.
- Previous experience in a similar food environment as a Commis Chef is essential.
- Experience of working in a high-volume Restaurant or similar is desirable.
- You’ll have the ability to learn on your feet and be passionate about food because we're not going to lie, cooking in a high-pressure kitchen can be hard work but super rewarding!
- Shows the ability to work at pace and under pressure.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a large team.
Other details of the Commis Chef role:
- The role offers full time hours of 40 average weekly hours, you'll have one set day off each week, and work alternate weekends and an evening shift.
- Please note, during the induction and training period of 3 months, the successful candidate will need to work every weekend having 2 weekday shifts off. A flexible approach is required.
- The role is on a permanent basis.
