This is a full-time on-site role for a People Accountant, based in Poole. Responsibilities include managing payroll, preparing and analysing financial reports related to personnel, conducting audits, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with tax and labour regulations. The candidate will work closely with human resources and finance teams to oversee all aspects of payroll including:
- Reviewing pay submissions, bonus & commission checks and submissions to the payroll bureau
- Liaising with pension schemes to ensure timely submission and all relevant documentation for salary sacrifice schemes
- Posting all related payroll journals to the accounts and providing any analysis required
- Preparing all monthly KPI reports
- Assisting with any other benefit arrangements including medical insurance, access to discount schemes etc.
- Tracking employee-related expenditures and providing insights to optimize workforce efficiency
The role also requires coordination with external auditors and maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive data.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in payroll processing, financial reporting, and budget analysis
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing practices, and tax regulations
- Skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Familiarity with financial software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience in a similar accounting or payroll role is preferred.
