Goal of Function
To maximise sales and develop sales opportunities, resulting in increased business and profit. To prospect for new business. Recognise sales opportunities and act on them promptly and effectively.
Position in Organization
Reports directly to the Business Manager. Represents the organisation at key customers, suppliers and within the Van Leeuwen Group.
Main Activities / Responsibilities
- Plan and perform your job based on the company’s sales strategy, processes and in accordance with van Leeuwen values.
- Take responsibility for a number of allocated customer accounts.
- Complete proactive sales activity against set targets.
- Identify opportunities for growth & new business and contribute to all commercial objectives.
- Support and liaise with relevant external sales team members for development of accounts.
- Promote good cooperation between the departments to create greater customer value and profitability.
- Generate, take and quote material enquiries; chase orders.
- Register orders and monitor progress.
- Handle customer complaints & aim for a resolution that is best for the business.
- Enter and maintain data on the CRM system.
- Perform filing and general administration.
- Accept extra duties as situations arise.
Expectations and Qualifications
- Previous experience in a commercial environment.
- Knowledge of SAP ERP systems will be an added advantage.
- Good level of competency in all MS Office applications.
- Drive and enthusiasm with a will to learn and progress.
- Proven experience in B2B sales.
- Higher education in Sales and/or Marketing.
- High social competence.
- Good knowledge in Office, SAP, Sales Force.
- Fluent in English – speech and writing.
- Experience of working in the steel stockholding industry is essential.
