We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and grow the pipeline of future works in the Housing division.
- Act as the customer representative for the Housing division and Van Elle.
- Attend meetings and deliver CPD’s.
- Interact professionally with all people within the company and our clients.
- Generate and maintain excellent working relationships with clients’ representatives.
- Interface with other BD Managers for feedback on meetings and enquiries.
- Encourage repeat business by adopting a professional attitude with clients and stakeholders.
- Liaise with Van Elle Estimators to track enquiries received.
- Conduct oneself in a way that reflects and promotes the Van Elle company values.
- Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures.
- Undertake any other tasks as reasonably required.
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in the construction/housing market, specifically ground engineering.
- Contacts and knowledge of customers in the sector.
- Knowledge of GI techniques, capabilities and competencies required.
- Personable with strong communication and relationship building abilities across all levels of the business.
- Strong organisational skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent in all Microsoft applications – especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience managing own priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexibly to support the overall aims of the team and changing priorities.
Other requirements:
- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK.
- A full driving licence, valid in the UK (essential).
