  • We are seeking an innovative

Senior Aero R&D Design Engineer to play a key role in the development of cutting‑edge aerodynamic technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex engineering projects from concept through to delivery, working across wind tunnel models, aerodynamic test equipment, full‑scale dyno programmes, and advanced R&D facilities.

Please note we are open to candidates at Engineer and Senior Engineer level. We will tailor the role and responsibilities to match your experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the design, planning and delivery of complex Aero R&D projects from concept to completion.
  • Acting as the technical focal point across multiple departments to ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentoring and supporting engineers, helping to develop capability within the team.
  • Designing and overseeing the delivery of components, rigs, tooling, fixtures and aerodynamic test equipment.
  • Reviewing and approving CAD data, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Ensuring designs are robust, manufacturable, fit for purpose and delivered to demanding timescales.
  • Steering problem‑solving and continuous improvement activities throughout development and testing programmes.
  • Carrying out feasibility studies and creating design solutions that support both operational and project requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced engineering environment. You'll ideally have:

  • A degree qualification (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a mechanical design engineering role, ideally within motorsport or other high‑performance engineering environments.
  • Advanced 3D CAD modelling skills, preferably using CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, including BS8888.
  • Excellent knowledge of Design for Manufacture (Df M).
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience using stress analysis methods and validating designs through physical testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a creative approach to engineering challenges.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and deliver results within fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.
