The Customer Experience Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible to guide the enterprise through global digital transformation and optimization of initiatives while supporting the formulation of future strategy. The scope of activities includes helping the organization achieve targeted business outcomes related to revenue growth, optimizing costs and mitigating risks. This role is accountable for the portfolio of solutions supporting Customer Experience and Sales enablement including but not limited to DASH (Ecommerce) and Sales Force and ensuring that the technology stack and the platform are scalable and future‑ready.

The EA works with business partners to understand their needs/requirements for new/changed functionality, identifies and presents new functionalities that can improve business efficiencies and cost savings and coordinates with IT colleagues on continuous improvement or cross‑functional teams or business subject‑matter experts.

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

Manage and Plan the IT Portfolio:

  • Support Portfolio Modernization and Develop Roadmaps.
  • Lead analysis of the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for rationalization/standardization of solutions based on the analysis.
  • Lead the development of an implementation plan for the digital enterprise architecture, based on business requirements and the varying IT strategies for project‑driven or product‑driven delivery teams.

Support Solutions Delivery

  • Develop and apply standards and minimal viable architectures through the EA governance model.
  • Clarify accountability and provide the focal point for agile, effective and efficient decision making.
  • Facilitate a collaborative relationship across architecture community, product management and product delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to leverage shared technologies, tools and processes that impact speed to value and time to market.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.

Formulate Strategy and Guide Execution

  • Work with Business and Leadership Stakeholders to Develop Strategy:
  • Understand the disruptive forces and the business’s economic and financial levers that are susceptible to digital transformation to effectively guide investment decisions.
  • Lead the analysis of business and operating models, market trends and the technology to determine their potential impact on the enterprise’s business strategy, direction and architecture to construct future‑ and current‑state business models.

Connect Strategy to Execution:

  • Facilitate business and IT alignment through a collaborative, supportive and consultative manner, driving the organization’s digital business strategies and balancing innovation and growth.
  • Translate and execute business strategy to achieve the organization’s targeted business outcomes by leading the development of an implementation roadmap for the digital enterprise architecture.
  • Provide viable options and visibility into execution issues.

Relationships with Peers and Business stakeholders and other EA’s

  • Identify and manage the relationship between people, processes, information, technology and other components of the enterprise.
  • Provide consultative advice to business leaders and other stakeholders on investment decisions about changes to business and operating model and how technology can enable it.
  • Lead and facilitate interaction with business leaders, product managers and product owners to make them understand the risks and implications of the product decision to organization.

Facilitate Innovation

  • Assess disruptive forces impacting the organization and identifies technology‑enabled innovation opportunities that enable business strategy.
  • Scan emerging technologies and the business ecosystem for major disruptive technology and non‑technology trends (trendspotting) that affect business.
  • Provide practical advice and best practices to take advantage of new, or emerging, opportunities and successfully deliver the expected business outcomes.
  • Detail potential competitive threats from digital enterprises and other competition.
  • Track and apply innovative technologies, integrating them into the business and operating model to assess their potential; use agile and lean approaches to evolve and manage innovation.
  • Run pilots to create new products and services and integrate them into steady‑state operations.

Bring Alignment Across Business and IT

  • Lead analysis of the business’ future goals and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement to drive the business toward its targeted outcomes.
  • Identify organizational requirements for the resources, structures and cultural changes necessary to support the enterprise architecture.
  • Work with the Digital Director, Digital CEO leaders, solution architects and other IT leaders to find the right organizational design to drive business‑outcomes.

What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of business and/or IT experience required.
  • Preferred 10+ years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis.
  • Preferred 10+ years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment.
  • Preferred 10+ years of Enterprise Business process design and implementation.
  • Preferred 7+ years of Ecommerce, CRM, Enterprise Content Management and other digital tools.
  • Preferred 5+ years of SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), S/4, HANA, Sales Force, DocuSign etc.
  • Preferred 3+ S/4 Hana User Experience (UX) implementation process.
  • Preferred 2+ years integration experience with other process areas.
  • Preferred 2+ years leadership experience on large enterprise implementation projects.
  • Preferred global experience having worked and supported multiple regions.

Technical Skills

  • Lead the technical direction during design and development processes by driving decisions and coordinating efforts.
  • Experience in data modelling for complex B2B, B2C business processes.
  • Experience integrating Hybris with ERP (SAP), CRM (Salesforce) and other legacy systems.
  • Experience in Salesforce applications/solutions (Sales, Service and Marketing clouds, CPQ and CLM) and integrated applications.
  • Experience working in Middleware technologies and analytical tools.
  • Experience in Spring framework including spring‑core, springMVC, spring‑ws, spring‑data, spring‑security.
  • Hands on experience in architecting/leading a highly scalable REST/SOAP web services based systems.
  • Solid knowledge of web technologies such as Java, J2EE (EJBs, servlets, JSP, Struts) Application Servers, Portal Applications and Standards, Content Management Systems, AJAX, JavaScript and XML technologies.
  • Solid experience in SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) with excellent working knowledge in areas of cloud Application Programming Model, Security Authorization & Trust Management.
