The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in their daily lives, helping them build confidence, independence, and positive routines. You will create a safe and structured environment while promoting education, wellbeing, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and safeguard young people within a therapeutic residential setting
- Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a strong role model
- Encourage participation in education, daily routines, and life skills development
- Support young people with emotional wellbeing, behaviour management, and independence
- Plan and engage young people in meaningful activities and routines
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and care standards
- Provide practical guidance around finances, daily living, and personal development
Requirements
- Experience working with children and young people in residential care, youth work, education, or similar settings
- Passionate, caring, and resilient with strong communication skills
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or Health & Social Care preferred (training provided if not qualified)
- Full UK Driving Licence required
- Enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks required
