We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (Lead / Senior) to support on a core strategic programme within Commercial Transformation for rolling out an Agency and Underwriting Workbench across the organisation. The role combines lead-level responsibility for shaping analysis approach, standards and stakeholder alignment, with hands-on delivery of high-quality business and technical analysis. The Business Analyst will play a critical role in translating underwriting and agency strategy into clear, structured requirements that underpin vendor selection, solution design and phased delivery.

Working closely with Underwriting, Agency, Group Change, IT and Enterprise Architecture, the role will define and assure business, workflow and integration requirements across a complex landscape, including workflow technologies, Guidewire PAS and Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM. The role will also provide analysis leadership across the programme, supporting junior BAs where required and acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Lead Business Analyst on complex change programmes within the insurance industry, ideally commercial lines.
  • Strong understanding of commercial underwriting and/or agency sales and servicing processes.
  • Demonstrable experience working with workflow / low-code technologies (e.g. Appian, Pega, ServiceNow or similar).
  • Proven experience defining requirements for integration with complex system integrations, including Guidewire PAS and Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
  • Strong requirements engineering skills: elicitation, documentation, prioritisation (MoSCoW), traceability and change control.
  • Experience operating at both strategic and detailed levels, from shaping analysis approach to writing delivery-ready stories.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence and challenge at senior levels across business and technology.
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments, supporting backlog management and phased delivery.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage traceability and requirements definition in tools like ADO.
  • Participate in solution design conversations with Tech leads, Architects and Testing teams.
