Job Description:

A Business Analyst is a client-facing role that will orchestrate solution implementations leveraging core Business Analysis skills, domain, and functional understanding in coordination with the entire team. The analyst will first understand the solution, tools, technology landscape, and architecture of the solution to understand the data flows, user roles, business features/needs in scope, etc. They will then perform the activity of planning their activities, reviewing the plan, task breakdown, scheduling, and detailing the outcomes from each. The analyst will ensure relevant and latest updates in the insurance industry for geography relevant to the allocated project/client are known and utilized during implementation.

Critical Traits:

  • Experience and knowledge of Ceded Reinsurance in the P&C Insurance Domain with Underwriting workbench.
  • Analysis, documentation, presentation, and communication should be detailed where required and of high quality.
  • Flexibility to adjust work timings and willingness to achieve stretched targets when required.
  • Assertive and highly motivated, comfortable managing multiple tasks at any point in time.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in implementing software solutions using established Insurance software products or customized software solutions.
  • Experience in implementing various business features and transactions: Policy Administration, Rating, Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance of various insurance products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Insurance IT, Business teams, and all internal and external stakeholders involved in implementations and rollout to determine business requirements, ensuring development aligns with requirements and scope.
  • Configure/provide configuration of rating logic and business rules along with patterns of business logic.
  • Document and articulate all functional, UI, and product requirements using standard methods.
  • Understand the offerings and products that will be implemented; understand what is currently available, supported, and not supported, and present the same.
  • Perform functional testing of the solution to troubleshoot and identify issues quickly, report to respective stakeholders, and track to closure during development and before deployment.
  • Demonstrate the solution, discuss scope changes to determine impact analysis; engage with UAT users to assist in completing the UAT.
  • Provide detailed walkthroughs of the system requirements, closely work with technical associates on project development activities, review test cases, and assist in closing the QA cycle, providing knowledge transfer to other team members.
  • Provide estimates for the activities; as part of change management inform the criticality, impact, risks, and priority. Provide timely walkthroughs of the work items – documentation, configured products, solution; regularly update the complex and challenging scenarios.
