We are working in partnership with a range of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across the Bury area who are seeking Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants to join their teams. These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people, particularly those with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs, and who want flexible or long-term work within secondary education.

The Role

  • Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups across KS3 and KS4
  • Assisting pupils with SEND, SEMH, behaviour needs, or EHCPs
  • Supporting learning within the classroom alongside teaching staff
  • Helping students remain engaged, regulated, and motivated
  • Providing pastoral and emotional support where required
  • Adapting support strategies to meet individual needs

Roles vary depending on the school and may include general classroom support or specialist SEND/SEMH placements.

We Are Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, care, SEN, or similar)
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine commitment to supporting students to succeed
  • A willingness to work across different secondary school settings

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience supporting SEND or SEMH
  • Team Teach or behaviour support training
  • Relevant qualifications (TA, CACHE, Youth Work, Psychology, Education, etc.)
