About the Role
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting classroom teachers and helping pupils reach their full potential. Assignments may be day-to-day, short-term, or long-term, offering flexibility to suit your availability and preferences with the potential of a permanent contract.
A Teaching Assistant's Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
- Work with small groups or on a one-to-one basis with pupils
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Support children with varying abilities, including those with additional needs
- Help prepare classroom resources and activities
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children (school-based experience desirable)
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are advantageous but not essential
