Secondary Cover Supervisor

Pay: £110-£140 per day, depending on experience and qualifications

The Role
Value Education are currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across welcoming secondary schools in Manchester and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident education professional who enjoys working with young people and wants the flexibility of supply work, with opportunities for regular bookings and longer-term placements.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain focused, engaged and on task while following pre-prepared lesson plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4.
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans and learning activities.
- Maintain a calm, positive and productive classroom environment.
- Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students with their learning and encourage positive engagement.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
- Adapt quickly to different schools, subjects and year groups.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and safeguarding.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working with young people, ideally within a secondary school setting.
- Confident managing a classroom independently.
- Calm, approachable and consistent when managing behaviour.
- Reliable, punctual and adaptable.
- Able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Passionate about supporting young people and education.

Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people.
- Previous secondary school experience is desirable.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Two suitable professional references.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
