The role: As a Head of New Business - Retail at Valtech you will be responsible for developing robust new business strategies and consistent opportunity pipelines. Day to day it will be you who is articulating the value of digital transformation to potential clients and you’ll be skilled at translating trends and technical concepts to C-level executives so that they understand them and value them. In turn, it is your responsibility to build, grow and nurture a steady pipeline of opportunities through the creation of new prospective client relationships as well as leveraging existing relationships within your extensive network.
You will confidently drive the creation, development, negotiation and closing of enterprise size deals whilst remaining customer centric and collaborative across the organisation in order to help our customers achieve their business outcomes. You will also work closely with our partners such as Google, Microsoft, Adobe etc. to pursue warm leads turning them into tangible opportunities for the Valtech organisation.
What you will be doing:
- Working proactively to identify new opportunities.
- Responsible for analysing market trends within the Retail sector and keeping up with industry trends, market demands, and competitor strategies.
- Developing business strategies along with creating and implementing strategies to increase the company's competitive advantage.
- Building relationships and developing and strengthening relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors through a variety of channels and strategies.
- Managing key client relationships and working to build new ones.
Essential Expertise:
- You’ll have a wealth of previous experience working within the digital consultancy world selling a broad range of digital expertise including our expertise in Data & AI, Cloud & Platforms, the design of intelligent experiences and making customers' visions reality through sophisticated strategy and innovation offerings.
- Previous experience working closely with Retail businesses and organisations selling to C-Level executives and senior leaders in the sector.
- Proven and demonstrable previous experience navigating complex and challenging negotiations.
- Proven knowledge, skills and experience of various sales methodologies and techniques that you can utilise to remove blockers and move opportunities along.
- Strong leadership and team working capabilities who can lead from the front and bring a team together when working on RFPs/RFIs and pitches.
- Excellent time, planning, and project management skills keeping yourself and those you are collaborating with organised and focussed.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Demonstrate resilience, attention to detail and a commitment to problem solving.
- Being creative and thinking outside the box when necessary.
- Skilled at navigating complex negotiations.
- Strong networking and business acquisition skills.
