About the Role
The Data Quality Analyst will conduct activities to primarily support the EPIC team in improving the quantity and quality of data held in the EPIC database.
The role also involves supporting requests for data and reports from Valpak Consulting and other operational teams, managing internal projects such as the VDI weighing project, and identifying cost savings opportunities through new services.
The analyst will collaborate with the Supplier Engagement Team to address data gaps, requiring strong data handling, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Key Accountabilities
- Maximise use of the database
- Investigate new ways of error reporting
- Educate the department to ensure accurate data entry as part of operational processes
- Work with Consulting to deliver project data
- Support sector reporting such as benchmarking and forecasting
- Collaborate with data partners to provide data in required formats (e. g., Plastic Pact)
- Ensure data quality
- Conduct the VDI Weighing Project to meet ISO Quality Objectives
- Run quality checking reports to ensure improved accuracy
- Cleanse the database of inaccuracies
- Coordinate with the Data Quality Manager on EPIC system requirements and testing
- Expand scope of EPIC data
- Work cross‑functionally to increase use of EPIC data beyond compliance, identifying cost‑saving areas (e. g., Benchmarking)
- Collaborate with Valpak’s Economist and Consulting to investigate sectors for product or packaging trends
- Develop internal and customer reports to present insights clearly
- Ensure data integrity
- Analyse and interpret data using reports and statistical techniques to provide insights
- Rigorously interrogate data and underlying assumptions
- Make recommendations to streamline processes
Experience & Skills
- Advanced Excel skills are desirable
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience analysing and manipulating large volumes of data
- Interest in environmental issues is desirable
Qualifications
- Numerical or scientific qualification at A‑Level (or equivalent) or above
- Degree level education or equivalent
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
