Purpose of the Role: To support teaching and learning within the classroom, with a particular focus on pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, cognition and learning difficulties, and physical needs. The role involves helping pupils access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their individual learning targets within a caring and inclusive environment.
Support for Teaching and Learning:
- Work closely with the class teacher to prepare and deliver differentiated learning activities.
- Adapt resources and teaching materials to meet the needs of individual pupils.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCo.
- Support classroom management and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
