Overview

Valoris Group is recruiting for a Mobile Mechanical Service Engineer with a strong HVAC and AHU focus, who is electrically qualified to support a growing building services provider across London and the M25. This field-based role is suited to an engineer who is primarily mechanically led in day-to-day work across plant and HVAC systems but holds solid electrical qualifications to support safe isolation, fault finding, inspection, and compliance tasks.

Role Responsibilities

  • Mechanical & HVAC Maintenance (Primary Focus)
  • Deliver planned, reactive, and statutory maintenance on HVAC plant and mechanical systems across client sites.
  • Service, fault find, and maintain Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), ventilation systems, pumps, motors, and associated mechanical plant.
  • Carry out belt changes, bearing replacements, filter changes, lubrication, and general mechanical servicing.
  • Diagnose faults across mechanical plant including airflow issues, vibration, and system inefficiencies.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical components linked to heating, ventilation, and chilled water systems.
  • Work on plant room equipment including valves, actuators, and pipework systems.
  • Electrical Duties & Compliance (Qualified Support Role)
  • Carry out safe isolation of mechanical plant and electrically driven equipment.
  • Support electrical fault finding on motors, control panels, and associated HVAC systems.
  • Conduct electrical inspection, testing, and compliance tasks where required.
  • Complete minor electrical works linked to mechanical plant maintenance.
  • Produce accurate certification and documentation including EICRs, test results, and remedial reports.
  • Ensure all works comply with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and health and safety standards.
  • Inspection & Operational Delivery
  • Attend multiple sites as directed by the Service Desk.
  • Identify and report remedial works and compliance issues.
  • Respond to emergency callouts and complete urgent repairs efficiently and safely.
  • Provide clear updates and technical guidance to clients on-site.
  • Maintain accurate service records using mobile job management systems.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide occasional out-of-hours support when required.

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications

  • HVAC or mechanical engineering qualifications
  • F-Gas awareness
  • IPAF and/or PASMA
  • Experience working with BMS interfaces and control systems

Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years experience working within building services maintenance
  • Strong hands-on experience working on HVAC systems, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and ventilation plant
  • Electrically qualified with experience in isolation, testing, and fault finding
  • Experience working across commercial environments
  • Experience delivering both planned preventative maintenance and reactive callouts
  • Previous mobile role experience advantageous

  • Confident working on electrically driven mechanical equipment
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • IT literate and confident using mobile job management systems
