The Opportunity

Valoris Group is partnering with a leading UK contractor to recruit experienced Commercial Electricians and Electrical Test Engineers for a major nationwide electrical compliance programme. This secured five-year contract provides long-term stability, structured workloads and excellent earning potential for engineers who thrive in commercial environments.

Working across a portfolio of commercial properties within your designated region, you will play a key role in delivering planned inspection, testing and compliance services. This position is ideal for an electrician with a strong background in EICRs, inspection and testing, and fault finding who is looking for consistent work, clear career progression and the opportunity to maximise earnings through enhanced rates and overtime opportunities.

The Role

As a Commercial Electrician / Electrical Test Engineer, your primary responsibility will be carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and associated inspection and testing works across a range of commercial sites. You will assess electrical installations against current regulations, identify defects and non-compliances, and provide detailed reports outlining any remedial actions required.

Alongside inspection and testing activities, you will undertake emergency lighting testing, support planned preventative maintenance programmes and complete minor remedial works where appropriate. You will also be involved in thermal imaging surveys, with full training provided for candidates who do not currently hold this experience.

The role requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy and compliance, ensuring all works are completed in line with BS7671 Wiring Regulations, industry standards and client requirements. You will be expected to produce clear documentation and maintain high levels of professionalism while working within a structured compliance environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience working within commercial electrical environments and be confident carrying out inspection and testing activities independently. You will possess strong fault-finding abilities, a good understanding of current electrical regulations and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly through reports and certification.

Candidates holding City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent), 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and an ECS or JIB card will be highly regarded. A full UK driving licence is essential, and flexibility to travel or work away from home when required will be necessary due to the nature of the contract.

Package & Benefits

This position offers a basic salary of £45,000 to £48,000, with realistic on-target earnings between £63,000 and £69,000+ through enhanced evening rates, overtime opportunities and performance incentives. Engineers benefit from a four-day working week, with the option of a fifth day for additional earnings.

The package includes a company van, fuel card, mobile phone, uniform, PPE, pension scheme and ongoing training and development. Accommodation is fully covered when working away, alongside overnight allowances and additional payments for out-of-hours call-outs. Employees also benefit from increasing holiday entitlement with service, regular performance reviews, employee recognition programmes and a referral bonus scheme.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a well-structured and financially secure organisation delivering one of the UK's largest electrical compliance programmes. With a guaranteed pipeline of work, strong earning potential and genuine long-term stability, this role is ideal for experienced Commercial Electricians and Electrical Test Engineers seeking a career move that offers both security and reward.
