About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Solar Electrician / Electrical Improver to join a growing Solar PV and Battery Installation team working across Reading and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is either part-qualified, currently studying part-time in electrical installation, engineering, or renewable energy, or looking to develop their hands-on experience within the solar and battery storage sector. The successful candidate will support qualified electricians and installation teams on domestic and/or commercial solar PV and battery projects, gaining valuable site experience while continuing to develop their electrical knowledge and technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of Solar PV systems and battery storage solutions
- Support electricians with wiring, containment, cable runs, testing preparation, and general electrical works
- Help with the installation of mounting systems, inverters, batteries, and associated electrical equipment
- Work safely on domestic and/or commercial sites in line with company procedures
- Follow technical drawings, installation plans, and site instructions
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Travel to sites across Reading and the surrounding areas
- Continue developing technical knowledge within electrical installation and renewable energy systems
