The Opportunity
On behalf of a well-established renewables installer operating across Chelmsford and bordering counties, Valoris Group are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician with a keen interest in solar technology. This is a site-based role working on rooftop systems (mostly residential with some small-scale commercial), assisting with the safe and compliant installation of solar energy equipment including PV panels, inverters, and battery storage units.

Key Responsibilities
- Installation of solar energy systems, including wiring of inverters and battery units
- Collaborating closely with the in-house team including Qualified Supervisors and Site Leads
- Running cable routes and ensuring all electrical work is compliant with current regulations
- Ensuring clean handover on completion and maintaining high-quality standards
- Representing the business professionally at client properties
- Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Domestic or commercial electrician with an active qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Familiarity with solar panel systems and battery integration highly desirable
- Candidates without solar experience but strong electrical foundations will also be considered
- Must be confident with general power and lighting installation, fault finding, and safe isolation
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Competency using hand and power tools safely and correctly
- Right to work in the UK
Preferred (but not required):
- Prior experience in rooftop PV installations or renewables
- Knowledge of DC cabling and isolator integration
- Familiarity with G98/G99 grid connection requirements
- Solar inverter commissioning experience
Location & Schedule
- Based from Chelmsford, covering nearby counties
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime available by arrangement
