The Role
A growing renewable energy contractor is looking for an experienced Lead Heat Pump Installer to oversee air source heat pump installations across social housing, residential developments and new-build projects.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading installations, maintaining quality standards and helping the business build a reliable heat pump installation team.
Projects are located across the UK, including work in Leicestershire, Coventry and Wales. Applicants must therefore be comfortable travelling and working away when required.
Responsibilities
- Lead air source heat pump installations from start to completion
- Manage engineers, plumbers and installation operatives on site
- Install heat pumps, cylinders, pipework and associated heating systems
- Carry out system flushing, filling, commissioning and handover
- Ensure installations comply with MCS requirements and manufacturer guidance
- Diagnose and resolve technical or installation issues
- Review drawings, surveys and system designs before installation
- Liaise with project managers, residents and clients
- Complete commissioning records and installation documentation
- Support the recruitment and development of additional engineers
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across all projects
Requirements
- Strong practical air source heat pump installation experience
- Plumbing or heating engineering background
- G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification
- Relevant plumbing, heating or ACS qualifications
- Understanding of domestic heating systems and hydraulic design
- Experience commissioning heat pumps and heating systems
- Good knowledge of MCS standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel and work away when required
F-Gas certification would be highly advantageous. Candidates without F-Gas may still be considered if they have strong heat pump experience and are willing to complete additional training.
The company is particularly interested in experienced installers who can deliver projects immediately, rather than candidates with qualifications but limited practical experience.
