Fire Alarm Engineer
Location: Lancashire
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annul, depending on experience
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing and fault-finding on fire alarm systems across a range of sites. This position requires strong technical knowledge, a thorough understanding of UK fire-safety standards and experience working with conventional, addressable and wireless systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission fire alarm systems.
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Test conventional, addressable and wireless fire alarm systems.
- Complete system modifications and upgrades.
- Ensure all work complies with BS 5839 and current fire-safety legislation.
- Produce accurate service reports, test records and certification.
- Identify system defects, compliance issues and recommended remedial work.
- Communicate professionally with customers and site representatives.
- Maintain the company vehicle, tools and equipment provided.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A minimum of five years' experience installing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire alarm standards and regulations, including BS 5839.
- Good knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- Experience working with conventional, addressable and wireless fire alarm systems.
- Relevant qualifications, such as FIA certifications or a recognized equivalent.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary of up to £45,000, depending on experience.
- 24 days' annual leave, excluding bank holidays.
