The Role
- Perform reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of commercial gas appliances, heating systems, and mechanical plant.
- Carry out annual servicing, inspections, and repairs on commercial boilers.
- Diagnose and repair faults on gas systems, including leaks, electrical interlocks, and BMS-controlled systems.
- Conduct small works and basic wet plumbing installations for building services and heating systems.
- Ensure compliance with gas safety regulations, industry standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Collaborate with electrical and BMS teams to resolve system-related issues.
- Produce detailed technical reports via PDA, including gas servicing records.
- Work with planning and procurement teams to ensure efficient parts ordering and installation.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns efficiently and safely within agreed SLAs.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and represent the company positively.
What We're Looking For
- Qualifications: Gas Safe Registered. ACS Qualifications: CoDNCO1, CIGA1, TPCP1A, CDGA1, CCN1 (essential). L1 Energy Conservation (C&G 6084). CENWAT and CKR1 qualifications. Water Regulations 1999 & Water Byelaws. Installation & Servicing of Domestic Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems.
- Desirable: ACS qualifications CORT1 and ICPN1.
- Experience & Skills: Minimum five years of experience in commissioning, servicing, repair, and breakdown of commercial gas systems. Strong knowledge of commercial boilers (65Kw to 6Mw capacity). Experience with forced draft burners (Riello, Nuway, Wieshaupt desirable). Understanding of BMS controls (Trend, Honeywell, Seachange). Experience working with electrical interlock systems (Gastech, Medam) and flue proving systems. Competence in using PDA reporting systems. Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues to clients and colleagues. Ability to interpret technical schematics and system diagrams. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
