Valoris Group is recruiting on behalf of a national fire safety provider that is looking to strengthen its Fire Alarm Service and Maintenance team across the Birmingham to Oxfordshire region. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer who wants to build a long-term career within fire safety, compliance, and life safety systems.

The role would suit someone who already has experience with fire alarms and emergency lighting, or an electrician looking to move into a more specialised and stable area of the industry. This is not a basic entry-level position. The client is looking for someone technically capable, reliable, professional, and keen to develop into a specialist Fire Alarm Engineer.

You will be joining an established national business delivering essential service, maintenance, testing, and compliance work across commercial sites. The role will involve travel, including working away Monday to Friday when required, with accommodation arranged and overnight allowances provided.

As a Fire Alarm Service & Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out planned maintenance, servicing, testing, and fault-finding across fire alarm systems and emergency lighting installations.
  • Working across a range of commercial environments, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, fully operational, and maintained in line with current regulations and client requirements.
  • Service, maintain, and fault-find on commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Carry out emergency lighting testing and inspection.
  • Work in line with BS 5839 and relevant fire safety standards.
  • Attend commercial client sites across your allocated region and wider national contracts.
  • Work away from home during the week when required, with accommodation provided.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong electrical background and either existing experience within fire alarm systems or a genuine interest in developing within the fire safety sector.
  • Reliability, well-organised skills, and comfort working on client sites.
  • A willingness to travel as part of the role.
  • A full UK driving licence.

This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits including:

  • Overnight stay allowance.
  • KPI-based performance bonuses.
  • Accommodation provided when working away.
  • Ongoing technical training and specialist fire safety development.
  • Clear progression into Senior Fire Engineer or Compliance-focused roles.
  • Long-term stability with a growing national fire safety provider.

This is a strong opportunity for an electrician or fire systems engineer who wants to move into a secure, specialist, and compliance-led sector. Fire safety is a highly regulated area with consistent demand, long-term career prospects, and clear technical progression. For someone looking to specialise beyond general electrical work, this role offers the chance to develop valuable expertise in fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and life safety compliance.
