Valoris Group is recruiting on behalf of a well-established facilities management and building services provider to appoint an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias) to support a portfolio of public sector and commercial buildings across London and Surrey.
The role
You will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance across occupied sites, supporting both building infrastructure and associated plant systems. This is a true electrical maintenance position rather than installation work.
Key Responsibilities
- Planned and reactive electrical maintenance across commercial and public sector buildings
- Fault finding and repair on general and emergency lighting systems
- Electrical maintenance on small power, sockets, distribution boards and associated infrastructure
- Electrical support to building services plant including pumps, motors, controls and BMS interfaces
- Carrying out statutory and contract PPMs in line with site procedures
- Completing electronic job sheets and compliance documentation
- Liaising with site teams and end users to arrange access and minimise disruption
- Working safely at all times in accordance with site and company procedures
- Supporting other engineers where required within competence
- Ordering replacement parts and providing basic cost information when required
About You
- Proven background in electrical maintenance within commercial, estates or facilities management environments
- Strong electrical fault finding skills
- Comfortable working in occupied buildings and client facing environments
- Confident using mobile devices to complete job reports and compliance documentation
- Full UK driving licence
- Able to pass DBS and background checks where required
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- City and Guilds 2391, 2394 or 2395 (Inspection and Testing)
- Experience working across schools, healthcare or public sector estates
- Basic understanding of building services plant and controls such as AHUs, pumps and BMS
