An exceptional opportunity for a hands-on, detail-focused Maintenance Engineer to play a key role in keeping a landmark new hotel running seamlessly, at the heart of Manchester’s Etihad Campus, home to Manchester City Football Club. This brand-new 401-key hotel is set to be a game-changer in hospitality, seamlessly integrating with one of the most prestigious entertainment and sporting destinations globally.

The next evolution of the Etihad Campus will see it become a thriving sports and entertainment district, featuring state-of-the-art training facilities, a world-class 60,000 seater stadium, and vibrant leisure spaces including the Co-op Live arena. It will become a world-class hub for elite sport, music, and entertainment, attracting visitors from around the world.

At the Medlock, maintenance is more than fixing what’s broken – it’s about creating an environment that feels safe, reliable and effortlessly well cared for. You’ll take pride in the details others don’t see, ensuring every space works exactly as it should, so every guest experience feels smooth, comfortable and uninterrupted.

You’ll take ownership of all aspects of maintenance—from day-to-day reactive tasks to planned preventative work—ensuring every system, space and detail works exactly as it should. Whether it’s a guest room, a public area or the wider surroundings, you’ll help maintain an environment that feels reliable, well cared for and true to our standards.

Working alongside trusted contractors and your wider team, you’ll approach compliance, safety and presentation with care and consistency, always doing things the right way. No two days will look the same. You’ll balance hands-on tasks with forward planning and routine checks, bringing a proactive mindset and a strong sense of responsibility to everything you do.

Our hotel never stops, and neither does the support behind it. We operate 365 days a year, with shift patterns designed to reflect the rhythm of the business—offering flexibility where possible. Specific hours and working patterns can be discussed at interview.

About you:

  • Has proven hotel maintenance experience, ideally within an upscale or lifestyle environment
  • Brings a meticulous, proactive and solutions focused approach to every task
  • Understands compliance, safety standards and the importance of robust building systems
  • Is confident leading a team and building strong relationships across all departments
  • Thrives in fast paced, high profile environments where teamwork and communication are essential
  • Has experience in hotel preopening — or is energised by the challenge and ready to learn
