At Medlock, first impressions matter-but it's the care shown overnight that makes them possible. As a Nights Porter, you'll look after the hotel while the world sleeps, ensuring guests feel supported, safe and welcome at every hour. This role is about more than being present-it's about reassurance, consistency and genuine care.
Working independently through the night, you'll be the main point of contact for guests, supporting late arrivals, early departures and any needs that arise with a calm, friendly approach. Whether answering questions, resolving issues or simply offering a reassuring presence, you'll help create a stay that feels seamless and well looked after.
This brand-new 401-key hotel is set to be a game-changer in hospitality, seamlessly integrating with one of the most prestigious entertainment and sporting destinations globally. The next evolution of the Etihad Campus will see it become a thriving sports and entertainment district, featuring state-of-the-art training facilities, a world-class 60,000 seater stadium, and vibrant leisure spaces including the Co-op Live arena.
What you'll be doing:
- You'll take ownership of the hotel overnight, working independently with confidence, consistency and strong attention to detail.
- While the hotel rests, you'll ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes and that guests feel supported, safe and well looked after at all times.
- Acting as the main point of contact throughout the night, you'll welcome late arrivals, assist with early departures and respond to guest enquiries with a calm, friendly and professional approach-always reassuring, always present.
- You'll follow all safety, security and operational procedures, maintaining awareness of the hotel and responding appropriately to anything unexpected.
- No two nights are the same. You'll balance routine overnight tasks with the natural unpredictability of guest needs, staying organised, proactive and one step ahead.
- Your work plays a vital role in ensuring the hotel feels seamless, welcoming and ready for the day team by morning.
- You'll be a quiet ambassador for The Medlock, bringing our brand to life through thoughtful service, reliability and the high standards you uphold-often behind the scenes, but essential to the guest experience.
About you:
- Warm, welcoming and naturally genuine in the way you care for guests and colleagues.
- Confident under pressure, with a steady presence and a touch of individuality that makes you memorable.
- An effective communicator, grounded and connected to the city you're helping shape.
- Experienced in a fast-paced hotel operation, ideally within a premium, lifestyle or high energy environment.
