About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Automation Training Manager to establish and lead a growing technical training capability within our UK business. This is a unique role combining hands-on training delivery, programme development, and strategic growth, with the opportunity to build the UK into a key hub for customer and internal automation training.

We’re open to candidates from two backgrounds:

  • An experienced technical trainer looking to specialise in advanced automation systems, or
  • An automation engineer with a passion for training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.

What You’ll Be Doing

Delivering Customer Value
  • Deliver high-quality technical training to our UK customer base for the full product range including: Valmet DNA DCS, Valmet QCS, Analyser and measurement products.
  • Build and manage a structured training schedule, including customer-specific courses.
  • Play a key role in growing our UK training business.
Driving Internal Capability
  • Support the Western Europe region in the rollout of DNAe with training across the area.
  • Deliver structured training programmes for automation engineers.
Building the Future Talent Pipeline
  • Act as a mentor and coach to engineers and early-career professionals, supporting their technical development and career progression.
  • Contribute to building a strong internal capability by sharing knowledge and best practices across teams.
  • Support onboarding and upskilling of new employees through structured and informal training.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the organisation.
Developing Training Excellence
  • Create and maintain engaging technical training content (classroom, hands-on, and digital).
  • Continuously improve training based on feedback and evolving technologies.
  • Ensure training aligns with business objectives and delivers measurable impact.

What We’re Looking For

Experience
  • Background in automation engineering, DCS systems, or technical training.
  • Experience delivering or developing technical training (or strong desire to move into training).
  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems (Valmet DNA or similar is an advantage).
Skills
  • Mandatory UK Driving License.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills – able to simplify complex topics.
  • Passion for developing people and sharing knowledge.
  • Organised, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to business growth.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work across global teams.
