Are you the new hands-on Service Expert and Team Player for Valmet’s Flow Control Business line? Based in Seaham, County Durham. As a Service Engineer, you will work mostly in our Seaham workshop and occasionally at customer sites throughout the UK / overseas to provide preventive and predictive maintenance of flow control (valve) equipment.
You will be tasked with performing the following:
- Repair, service and assembly of all types of valve products and ancillaries in line with standard operating procedures.
- Maintenance of relevant documentation of all the work carried out, using computerized systems.
In this role, you will be servicing Valmet’s valve equipment (including Neles / Jamesbury valves), which is equipment that controls the flow of product at the customer’s location.
What You’ll Need:
- Craft apprentice training in Mechanical Engineering fitting, qualified to Level 3 (BTEC / ONC) or higher with 6+ years’ experience in a service-oriented hands-on fitting / maintenance environment.
- Experience of working with valves is a strong advantage and having some machining experience would be desirable.
- Valid driver’s licence and responsiveness to after-hours issues when necessary, adopting a flexible approach to work.
- A strong troubleshooting background, mechanical & computer aptitude, and logical way of thinking to isolate problems.
- Develops strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
- Strong interpersonal and English-speaking communication skills.
- Be flexible and available to interact with customers as required.
- Based no more than one hour from our Seaham workshop.
- Be able to take the initiative, capable of working alone as well as contributing to a strong teamwork ethic.
