Valmet is looking for a Blue Collar Field Technician to join our Yankee Services team in Darwen, UK. As a Yankee Services Field Technician, you will provide worldwide onsite machining and thermal coating services for tissue paper manufacturing customers. Following a structured training program, you will work independently and alongside fellow technicians on customer sites, ensuring Yankee cylinders are serviced and finished to the highest standards of quality and performance. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role involving international travel, technical problem-solving, machinery maintenance, and direct work with industrial equipment in customer production environments.
What You'll Do
- Implement drying cylinder service projects, including repair, grinding, thermal spraying, inspection, and measurement activities on customer sites.
- Maintain, repair, and service equipment used in field operations to ensure safe and effective performance without lost time due to equipment failure.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any deviations from normal operating conditions while working on customer sites.
- Troubleshoot technical and operational issues.
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to perform a variety of operational and manual tasks that form part of the service process.
