Role Overview
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Risk Specialist to support a major organisation within the UK financial regulatory sector.
- The successful candidate will lead independent reviews of credit risk management frameworks and credit asset quality across UK retail and SME banking institutions.
- This position requires extensive experience in credit risk management, portfolio analysis, regulatory assessment and the evaluation of credit risk models.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in UK Retail Banking and/or SME Banking credit risk.
- Strong background in Credit Asset Quality Reviews and Credit Risk Management Framework Reviews.
- Credit portfolio risk management experience gained within a bank, financial regulator or similar institution.
- Good understanding of IFRS 9, IRB models, credit stress testing and credit risk forecasting.
- Experience assessing credit provisioning methodologies and loan portfolio quality.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk governance, risk appetite, Three Lines of Defence and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management, reporting and communication skills.
- Ability to lead independent reviews and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
- SC security clearance required.
