We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of projects within the water and wastewater sector. The successful candidate will be involved throughout the full project life cycle, from concept and detailed design through to commissioning and handover, ensuring high-quality electrical engineering solutions are delivered safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review electrical engineering designs for water treatment and infrastructure projects.
- Work on systems including Motor Control Centres (MCCs), LV distribution systems, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
- Support both new technology installations and upgrades to existing Legacy systems.
- Produce and review technical specifications, schedules, and procurement documentation.
- Evaluate supplier tender submissions and provide technical input during procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant design, quality, and safety standards including client and WIMES standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Graduate Engineers and junior team members.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting project delivery objectives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards professional accreditation.
- Strong experience delivering electrical engineering projects within regulated environments.
- Previous experience within the water industry is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of design standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
