The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of Aviation Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities across our client projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically complex, multidisciplinary aviation projects, collaborating within diverse client environments alongside specialists in building services, sustainability, energy, BIM, and other engineering disciplines. You will play a key role in delivering high-performance and low-carbon aviation solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and coordination across aviation and MRO client projects
- Deliver projects through all stages: feasibility, concept, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Engage directly with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and multidisciplinary environments
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and mechanical design documentation
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship within project environments
- Support business development through client interaction and technical input
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices
- Contribute to net-zero and sustainable design solutions across client projects
- Manage project delivery, including budgets, timelines, and commercial performance
- Support digital engineering and innovation initiatives across projects
Technical Expertise Required
- Proven experience delivering aviation facility projects, particularly MRO hangars and support buildings
- Strong knowledge of aviation-specific mechanical systems, including:
- Mass air start systems
- Aircraft fuel venting systems
- Aircraft hydraulic systems
- Compressed air and specialist gas systems
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards (IMechE, CIBSE, or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience in aviation or MRO project delivery
- Ability to lead and influence within multidisciplinary client project environments
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing client-facing project delivery
- Good understanding of industry regulations and emerging trends
- Passion for sustainable and energy-efficient design
