Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to the project team regarding forest and wetland carbon project development and implementation, including working in-person with project teams
- Lead on feasibility and due diligence assessments for forest and wetland carbon/NBS projects
- Work with our inter-disciplinary team to develop concepts and project descriptions for forest/wetland carbon interventions at the project, program and jurisdictional level
- Work with and develop carbon modelling tools
- Support the development of carbon accounting methodologies (tidal wetlands, new ocean scope)
- Robust project management to ensure that delivery timelines are met. This will require working directly with clients, colleagues and external collaborators.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced in the climate and/or natural resource management sector, with demonstrable carbon project development experience
- A comprehensive understanding of carbon accounting procedures and the AFOLU (nature-based) requirements of the major carbon standards (VCS; Gold Standard; Plan Vivo)
- An understanding of carbon dynamics and accounting in tidal wetland environments, particularly field measurements
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a demonstrated track record of timely delivery in high-pressure situations
- Proficient in working both independently and within a group environment, with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to synthesise and communicate complex subjects clearly in writing and presentation
- Business-minded with an eye for pragmatic solutions
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Empathic team player
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to travel internationally when necessary.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in the development of carbon accounting methodologies
- GIS and/or remote sensing experience
- Fluency or competency in languages other than English.
