I'm currently supporting a major infrastructure organisation with the search for a senior Water Quality & Regulations professional to oversee regulatory compliance and drinking water quality performance across multiple regions. This role is heavily focused on clean water regulation, public health protection, and ensuring compliance across the full drinking water supply chain — from source and treatment through to distribution and customer supply.
The successful individual will act as a key technical and regulatory lead across the business, working closely with operational, treatment, and network teams while maintaining strong engagement with regulators and industry stakeholders.
Key focus areas:- Leading water quality compliance and regulatory assurance across potable water operations
- Developing and overseeing monitoring strategies and sampling programmes in line with DWI expectations and Water Supply Regulations
- Investigating water quality incidents, compliance breaches, and customer-impacting events
- Supporting treatment works and clean water network operations on water quality matters
- Driving improvements across hygiene, QA/QC processes, and operational compliance
- Acting as a key contact for regulators, audits, and industry liaison activities
- Supporting policy, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives across water quality operations
- Strong experience within drinking water / potable water / clean water environments
- Detailed understanding of DWI guidance, Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations, and public health responsibilities
- Experience working across water treatment, distribution networks, sampling, or water quality monitoring functions
- Background within a regulated water utility, laboratory, or operational compliance environment
- Comfortable managing risk, incidents, and regulatory matters within operational settings
