Your responsibilities: The SAP MM Consultant is responsible for managing and supporting the Materials Management (MM) processes within an SAP ECC environment. The role focuses on procurement, inventory management, and vendor-related processes, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and system stability. The consultant works closely with business users to configure and maintain procurement processes, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, and invoice verification. A key responsibility is to handle support activities, issue resolution, and minor enhancements in a live production environment. The role also involves ensuring accurate master data management (materials, vendors), supporting integration with Finance (FI) and Warehouse/Logistics functions, and maintaining system consistency. The consultant contributes to process improvements and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with business and system standards.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Strong experience in SAP MM (ECC) configuration and support
- End-to-end understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes (PR → PO → Goods Receipt → Invoice Verification)
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Purchasing (PR, PO, contracts, scheduling agreements)
- Inventory management (stock movements, valuation)
- Experience in master data management (Material Master, Vendor Master)
- Strong knowledge of integration with FI (invoice verification, GR/IR, payment process)
- Experience in production support, incident handling, and root cause analysis
- Ability to handle enhancements, configuration changes, and user issues
- Familiarity with pricing procedures, release strategies, and account determination
- Experience working in live/production ECC environments
- Strong understanding of business processes in procurement and supply chain
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams (FI, SD, WM)
