We are seeking an experienced Deputy Service Design & Transition Lead to support large-scale IT and digital transformation programmes within the public sector. The successful candidate will act as the deputy to the Service Design & Transition Lead, ensuring effective service architecture design and smooth transition of technology services into live operational environments.
This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, supplier management, and a solid understanding of service transition processes within complex enterprise environments. Previous public sector experience is essential, while policing sector experience would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the deputy to the Service Design & Transition Lead across major transformation programmes.
- Support the design and implementation of service architectures for complex IT systems and digital services.
- Ensure successful transition of large-scale technology services into live operational support environments.
- Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain service readiness and operational effectiveness.
- Contribute to supplier and commercial management activities, ensuring services meet contractual and operational requirements.
- Provide service-related input into contractual discussions and governance activities.
- Collaborate with project and programme teams to ensure alignment between delivery, operations, and business objectives.
- Identify and manage service risks, dependencies, and transition challenges.
- Maintain strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the service lifecycle.
- Proven experience in Service Design and Transition within large-scale IT or digital transformation programmes.
- Strong experience working within the Public Sector (mandatory).
- Policing sector experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience supporting transition of services into live operational environments.
- Strong supplier and commercial management experience.
- Experience contributing to service-related contractual discussions.
- Excellent project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Broad technical IT knowledge with a strong understanding of how support services impact wider business operations.
- ITIL certification or strong understanding of IT Service Management principles.
- Experience working within highly regulated or secure environments.
- Previous experience in hybrid delivery environments.
