Job Title: Principal Disaster Recovery Consulting Engagement Lead
Location: Remote, UK (Occasional visit to Birmingham Office)

Role Overview
The Principal DR Consulting Engagement Lead will serve as the strategic and operational anchor for Customerβs enterprise-scale Disaster Recovery (DR) enhancement initiative. This role demands a seasoned consultant with deep expertise across hybrid IT environments, cloud platforms, infrastructure, automation, and cybersecurity. The Lead will be responsible for orchestrating the delivery of a robust, scenario-based DR strategy, coordinating cross-functional teams, and embedding sustainable DR practices across Customerβs technology domains.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
β Lead the end-to-end delivery of the DR enhancement engagement, ensuring alignment with Customerβs business continuity goals and hybrid infrastructure dependencies.
β Serve as the primary point of contact for Customer stakeholders, managing expectations, timelines, and quality assurance.
DR Strategy Development
β Design a resilient DR strategy encompassing on-premises infrastructure, multi-cloud deployments (AWS, Azure), and third-party SaaS/PaaS/IaaS services.
β Conduct maturity assessments and gap analyses against industry frameworks (ISO 22301, NIST), identifying areas for uplift.
Scenario Planning & Testing Frameworks
β Develop diverse, realistic DR scenarios tailored to Customerβs risk landscape, including ransomware, data center outages, and cloud service failures.
β Establish structured workflows for end-to-end DR testing, including interdependency mapping across systems, applications, and business processes.
Cloud & Automation Integration
β Advise on cloud-native DR approaches, automation of recovery workflows, and orchestration strategies for SaaS/PaaS/IaaS platforms.
β Evaluate existing tooling and provide vendor-neutral recommendations for DR enablement.
Infrastructure & Data Center Advisory
β Provide technical guidance on recovery strategies for high-performance compute clusters, collocated data centers, and enterprise platforms.
β Validate restoration sequences and dependencies critical to infrastructure resilience.
Network Security & Cyber Recovery
β Integrate cyber recovery best practices into DR planning, with emphasis on ransomware response and hybrid threat scenarios.
β Align recovery strategies with compliance and audit requirements.
Workshops & Capability Uplift
β Design and deliver targeted workshops for infrastructure, cloud, and platform teams to embed repeatable DR practices.
β Facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams, enabling them to own and execute DR planning and testing independently.
Required Skills & Experience
β 10+ years in disaster recovery consulting across hybrid IT environments.
β Proven experience leading DR strategy engagements for large-scale enterprises.
β Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), automation tools, and orchestration frameworks.
β Strong grasp of infrastructure recovery, data center operations, and cyber resilience.
β Familiarity with compliance standards: ISO 22301, NIST, SOC 2.
β Exceptional stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership skills.
β Experience in designing and facilitating technical workshops.
Preferred Qualifications
β Certifications in DR/BCP (e.g., CBCP, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer).
β Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator).
β Experience with high-performance compute environments and emulation platforms.
