Role Purpose
Responsible for producing, checking and approving cable design deliverables to a high technical standard, ensuring projects are delivered in line with programme, budget and client expectations. You will support project delivery, contribute to technical excellence and mentor less experienced engineers where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce, review and approve cable design deliverables using industry-standard software
- Deliver accurate technical documentation considering electrical clearances, construction, maintenance, geology and structural modifications
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, CDM regulations and industry standards
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers and delivery teams to meet project milestones
- Review drawings and technical documents, identifying improvements and risks
- Maintain high technical standards across personal and team outputs
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
- Support project planning, resourcing, forecasting and delivery activities
- Monitor progress, manage deadlines and escalate risks when required
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering β Essential
- Chartered status β Desirable
- 3β5+ yearsβ cable design or relevant engineering experience
- Experience with CYMCAP, ELEK and/or Cableizer
- Background within power, utilities, energy or infrastructure sectors
- Ability to work autonomously while supporting team delivery
