This is an exciting opportunity for a HV Operations Manager / Director position. This is a senior leadership role offering flexible location options and the chance to play a key part in a growing and highly competitive market.
This role is focused on leading and developing HV operations, strengthening market presence, and ensuring excellence in project delivery across a range of complex electrical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development & Client Engagement
- Develop opportunities with existing clients and review pipeline plans
- Support the Business Development team in securing new opportunities
- Lead early-stage discussions on project design and delivery
- Act as the escalation point for clients and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain clear communication during tender and validation stages to avoid cost or programme surprises
- Commercial & Project Oversight
- Lead negotiations on variations, EOTs, and escalations where required
- Ensure project programmes, milestones, and deliverables are aligned and achievable
- Review contract documentation pre-signing, ensuring scope, risks, and schedules are accurate
- Maintain commercial control and ensure correct processes are followed
- Leadership & Operations Management
- Lead project managers, commercial managers, engineers, and wider delivery teams
- Monitor performance through reporting and regular reviews
- Attend client and internal meetings, ensuring alignment across stakeholders
- Ensure safety, quality, and operational standards are upheld
- Coordinate with internal departments including procurement, planning, and quality
- Manage project risks and escalate issues when required
- Ensure appropriate resource and labour allocation
- Take overall accountability for successful project delivery
- Technical Oversight
- Support subcontractor selection and engagement to avoid scope gaps
- Oversee delivery of HV works including: EHV / HV / LV installation, termination & testing (up to 235kV)
- Cable pull-in services
- Ensure programme and delivery targets are met from early project stages
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Strong background in HV operations with proven leadership experience
- Knowledge of HV inspection, monitoring, and delivery practices
- Experience managing complex infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
