Overview: An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a major grid stability infrastructure project involving the construction and commissioning of a Synchronous Condenser facility. The successful candidate will oversee mechanical installation activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works across the project.
- Oversee steel piping fabrication and installation activities.
- Manage the assembly and installation of synchronous condensers or similar rotating equipment, including gas turbines and associated auxiliary systems.
- Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Monitor installation progress and resolve technical and construction issues.
- Review drawings, specifications, and work packages to ensure correct execution.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress reporting.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on large-scale industrial, power generation, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in steel piping systems and mechanical installation works.
- Experience with synchronous condensers, gas turbines, or other large rotating equipment assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts within a live construction environment.
