Full time permanent role
Our client is a leading Capital Markets SaaS company building the data infrastructure that powers some of the world's leading financial institutions such as HSBC, Northern Trust, Baillie Gifford, and others collectively managing over $12 trillion AUM. To do that, they need someone who lives and breathes cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure!
This is a deeply hands-on engineering role spanning three areas: Cloud and Kubernetes engineering, security and compliance, and platform operations. You'll be writing Terraform, configuring clusters, and working in cloud consoles from day one, not managing a backlog from a distance.
You will be responsible for:
- Engineering and evolving multi-tenant infrastructure across AWS and Azure
- Maintaining Infrastructure as Code
- Hardening cloud environments against security findings
- Managing secrets and encryption
- Contributing to disaster recovery and observability work
You will participate in a third-line on-call rota and work with the existing team to identify and address infrastructure consistency and hardening gaps. You will have the opportunity to actively leverage AI tools to accelerate engineering tasks, automate repetitive work, and improve documentation.
What you'll work on:
- Designing and evolving multi-tenant infrastructure across AWS and Azure (EKS/AKS, Terraform IaC, Istio, Calico, cloud networking)
- Security and compliance: CIS benchmarks, SOC2, HashiCorp Vault, Wiz, GuardDuty, encryption and key management
- Platform operations: Prometheus/Grafana observability, disaster recovery, cloud cost optimisation, third-line on-call
What we're looking for:
- Significant experience as a cloud infrastructure or platform engineer for a managed SaaS product
- Deep, hands-on AWS and/or Azure experience in multi-account setups
- Production Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) — cluster lifecycle, upgrades, troubleshooting
- Strong Terraform IaC and Linux systems administration
- Cloud IAM, networking, and security posture experience
- Bonus: financial services / regulated SaaS, multi-cloud, SOC2/CIS compliance
