We are seeking an experienced Transformers Commissioning Engineer for UK-based National Grid substation projects.
Overview:
- Commissioning of 275kV–400kV power transformers
- Fully remote base with occasional site visits as required
- UK National Grid substation work
- 12-month contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Transformer commissioning, testing, and energisation support
- SAT and pre-energisation checks
- Execution of SCT15 procedures
- HV testing, diagnostics, and fault finding
- Commissioning reports and compliance with National Grid standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience with 275kV–400kV transformer commissioning
- Strong UK transmission/substation background
- Experience with OMICRON test equipment (CPC 100, DIRANA, etc.)
- Familiarity with SCT15 documentation
- UK resident, eligible for UK site work
Desirable:
- Transformer protection testing experience
- Strong reporting and independent working capability
IMPORTANT: This job allows for fully remote working, the selected candidate must be based in the UK but be willing to travel to the site where required, no more than 5 working days per month. Omicron test equipment experience is vital for this position.
