Responsibilities:
- Define data ownership and accountability across the organization
- Create and manage the enterprise-wide data catalog
- Oversee the creation, maintenance and use of metadata
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data from unauthorised access and breaches
- Establish and enforce data governance and policy standards
- Regularly audit data access and usage to ensure compliance with policies and standards
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and identify data quality issues
- Conduct data profiling and quality assessments to identify data discrepancies and inconsistencies
- Monitor the performance of data cleansing and remediation plans for data integrity
- Provide data training and awareness to employees, improving employee capabilities and competency to understand data and their controls – inclusive of knowledge for data protection laws and regulations such as GDPR
- Stay up-to-date with data management best practices and industry trends
- Support data integration and migration projects
- Participate in data protection and privacy initiatives
- Develop and track key data quality metrics to measure improvements over time
- Establish and manage data lifecycle governance processes, including data creation, storage, use and disposal
- Define and implement data archiving strategies to preserve data for legal, regulatory and business purposes
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a data role
- Capability to present and guide expectations aligned to Data Best Practice (DBP) Guidance
- Proficient in documenting data processes, data lineage and data management activities
- Excellent data analysis techniques
- Capable of creating and providing operational design and policy standards
- Good understanding of the client data integration patterns
- Good understanding of business data models for internal and external stakeholders
- Expertise in data profiling, data cleansing and data validation techniques
- Can identify impacts of data (or bad data)
- Exposure to a range of visualisation and reporting techniques to drive data integrity standards
