We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Civil Engineer to join our growing engineering client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production and review of engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports for: Masonry buildings, Steel portal frames, Transformer bunds, Drainage systems, Roads.
  • Deliver projects ranging from construction contract values of £100K – £20M.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure effective project delivery, providing updates and identifying risks relating to programme, quality, or cost.
  • Attend progress meetings at client/contractor offices and construction sites as required.
  • Participate in design team meetings to ensure the timely flow and release of quality information aligned with project scope.
  • Manage design risks to deliver practical and buildable engineering solutions.
  • Provide engineering solutions to site-based problems through the TQ/RFI process.
  • Mentor junior engineers, offering technical guidance and supporting professional development.
  • Take responsibility for ongoing professional development in line with industry best practice, legislative changes, and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a design environment involving: Traditional masonry buildings, Steel portal frames, Reinforced concrete structures.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple technical projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams, non-technical stakeholders, and clients.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Working toward Chartered or Incorporated status with a relevant professional body such as ICE.
  • Experience within the electricity distribution sector, particularly substation design and electrical infrastructure.
  • Practical experience using AutoCAD, Revit, and Civils3D.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
