Lead Data Architect with Insurance Client
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of strategic data programmes, ensuring adherence to defined scope, budget, and quality standards
- Work closely with Data Governance, Business, and key stakeholders to drive the programme and roadmap of change
- Monitor delivery progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they arise
- Prepare and present updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and best practices throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee appropriate resourcing by identifying key requirements from cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships
- Ensure all deliveries align with the organization’s strategic vision and data roadmap
- Align business strategies, enterprise transformation activities, and technology direction through effective data architecture and governance
- Lead the effective and timely development of new or enhanced systems and technologies
- Monitor all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Production Support service levels, ensuring high-quality technical support for data platforms
- Collaborate with customers, IT managers, and other business leaders to maximize the value of data technologies in business processes
- Prepare business cases, including financial analysis of new technologies and systems, and evaluate them based on strategic needs and resource availability
- Oversee business analysis, development work, and quality assurance for key data and technology projects
Role & Responsibilities
- Extensive knowledge of modern database technologies including Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
- Broad understanding of software development techniques, processes, and industry best practices
- Proficiency with various programming languages (e.g., Python) and tools such as Power BI
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams toward successful delivery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach to identifying and resolving complex challenges
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Familiarity with application test automation tools, frameworks, and best practices
- Proven experience with Agile methodologies and traditional software development approaches
- Strong strategic decision-making and long-term planning capabilities
- Solid business acumen, especially in leveraging data for operational improvement and transformation
- Direct experience working with Insurance or Reinsurance data systems and business processes
