Cyber Security Lead Consultant – Energy Industry | 6-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | Active Security Clearance Required

Hybrid – onsite once per week

I’m supporting a leading organisation within the UK energy sector looking for an experienced Cyber Security Lead / SME to support a high-profile programme focused on the cyber security and resilience of smart energy technologies.

This is a senior, technically focused role covering security architecture, cyber risk, assurance and governance, working closely with regulators and key stakeholders across the UK energy market.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide SME leadership across cyber security, security architecture and cyber risk.
• Develop and maintain Threat & Risk Assessments and associated risk treatment plans.
• Support Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) assurance and cyber resilience audits.
• Advise on security standards, controls, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Work with senior industry, regulatory and government stakeholders.
• Support security requirements relating to smart energy devices, IoT and flexibility markets.
• Active SC Clearance is essential.
• Strong Security Architecture and Cyber Risk experience.
• Extensive knowledge of NIS and NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).
• Experience conducting ISO 27001 audits and cyber resilience assessments.
• Strong understanding of cyber threats, risk assessment and security controls.
• Experience within the energy/utilities sector.
• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer and CISSP qualifications.
