Job Title: Collibra Technical SME Location: Sheffield, 3Days/week Onsite Duration: 6Months+ Contract Inside IR35 Role Overview: We are seeking a Collibra Technical SME to design, implement, and optimize metadata management and data governance solutions using the Collibra platform. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Collibra, hands-on experience with data lineage, metadata ingestion, and workflow development, and the ability to work closely with business and technology stakeholders to enable enterprise-wide data governance. This role works closely with the Collibra users, Businesses, Senior Data Definitions Manager and Definitions Leads etc. to ensure the Collibra (Group Data Dictionary tool) is available 24/7 and implements new functionality or workflows on need basis. Fix the application issues. Optimize the code if needed. Automate the support tasks wherever possible. Principal responsibilities Design and implement Collibra operating models, including domains, communities, asset types, workflows, and responsibilities. Develop and manage workflows using Collibra Workflow Designer (BPMN, Groovy, Java APIs). Enable technical lineage by integrating Collibra with ETL tools, databases, BI platforms, and cloud data environments. Configure and deploy Collibra Edge and support metadata harvesting across diverse sources. Build and maintain custom APIs / SDK scripts to automate metadata ingestion and data catalog enrichment. Support reference data management and stewardship activities within Collibra. Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and governance teams to translate governance requirements into technical solutions. Ensure KPIs are captured and reported through Collibra dashboards. Troubleshoot, optimize, and upgrade Collibra environments, ensuring scalability and performance. Provide knowledge transfer, training, and best practices to governance teams and technical developers Qualifications / Required Skills Bachelor’s degree or International Equivalent Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills preferred Proficiency in Collibra APIs, Java, Groovy, and REST integrations. Strong SQL knowledge and familiarity with common databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, BigQuery, etc.). Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, DataStage, etc.) and BI platforms (Qlik, Power BI, etc.). Understanding of metadata standards, data lineage, reference data, and business glossaries. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and hybrid data ecosystems. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to design scalable, enterprise-grade Collibra solutions. Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business stakeholders. Preferred: Collibra Ranger or Collibra Expert certification.
