Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Chemical cleaning engineer on the construction site

  • Flushing and Chemical cleaning of large-scale power plant water/steam cycles with High Temperature EDTA process (=Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid).

  • Ensuring compliance with regulations pertaining to Safety, Environmental and Health regulations within the scope of own responsibility.

Main Duties:

  • Supervision of works for temporary installations

  • Part of the team to perform the flushing and chemical cleaning process

  • Performance of chemical analysis related to the cleaning process

  • Operation of temporary equipment (pump skid, filters, heat exchangers, auxiliary boilers, temporary valves)

  • Documentation and reporting

Qualifications required for the position:

  • Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineer respectively Chemical or Mechanical Technician

  • Advanced experience in process commissioning with detailed knowledge of the water/steam cycle of a Combined Cycle Power Plant

  • Knowledge of relevant international technical guidelines (e.g. VGB Standard S-513, EPRI Chemical Cleaning Guideline)

  • Ability to work within multicultural and interdisciplinary teams

  • Fluent in English (additional beneficial)

  • Physical resilience

  • Reliability and care

Essential Skills required for the position:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of cleaning technology of mechanical systems of combined cycle power plants (flushing, chemical cleaning), particularly of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs).

Employment Experience required for the position

  • Several years professional experience at various power plant construction sites as technical supervisor and in similar positions.
