The School of Science and Technology Maidstone (SST) is an outstanding school, with state-of-the-art facilities, that opened in 2020. We are extremely popular within the local community and are heavily oversubscribed. SST is at an exciting point in its growth and development as September 2026 will be the year the school has a full complement of students and staff as our very first 2020 cohort become Year 13.

In January 2023 SST was inspected by Ofsted and was graded OUTSTANDING in all categories and in our first set of public examinations in 2025 our outcomes for students were amongst the very best non-selective schools in Kent. This is a testament to the fantastic work that has gone into making this school a brilliant place to learn and work.

We are currently recruiting a Sixth Form Student Support Manager/Administrator to join our team from March 2026. The Student Support Manager is a crucial role within the school and will support the academic progress, wellbeing, and attendance of six-form students at SST Maidstone by providing high-quality pastoral support and efficient administrative services. This role is key in maintaining a structured, supportive, and effective sixth-form environment where all students can thrive.

This term time + 1 week post is for 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The salary starts at £22,483.00, pro rata to full time of £26,256.00 VIAT 5.

As well as dealing directly with students on a day-to-day basis, they will also liaise with parents and assist them with their enquiries on a regular basis. Applicants must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and maintain confidentiality at all times. Key skills required include being comfortable in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, they must have excellent typing skills and a professional telephone manner.
