Lead a team that makes a difference at Valley Steps. Team Leads help create a positive environment where both employees and clients can succeed. You'll provide leadership, training, and support while working alongside your team to ensure quality services, operational excellence, and meaningful outcomes for the individuals we serve.
Pay: Range starts at $22.00/hour (pay is calculated based on years of licensed working experience)
Shift Differential: Additional $2.25/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00am – 5:00pm

Job Summary & Deliverables: The Team Lead performs a variety of supervisory tasks and ensures employees have the resources and training to perform their jobs successfully. The Team Lead possesses advanced knowledge and skill in their respective function and utilises this knowledge and skill to train, coach, and supervise employees. The Team Lead actively encourages a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises the daily activities and operational performance of a team in a residential or housing unit.
- Ensures ongoing and transparent communication by holding huddles, one-to-one meetings, and the utilisation of approved communication resources.
- Promotes a culture of strong performance and high morale.
- Ensures the completion of operational goals within required timelines.
- Provides orientation, training, and mentoring to new employees; ensures that orientation and training objectives are completed within established timeframes.
- Trains employees to understand unit/business area plan and how each member of the team serves to ensure fulfilment.
- Ensures employee compliance with company policy, procedure, and operational expectations.
- Adds performance problems and provides appropriate support.
- Improves employee competence by providing educational resources.
- Maintains professional relationships with other Valley employees, customers, and stakeholders.
- Improves financial and operational results by analysing data; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
- Prepares and analyses reports as required.
- Manages employee timecards and other payroll responsibilities.
- Works with Quality Assurance and Valley Leadership to ensure compliance with all related and applicable regulatory requirements including but not limited to: grants, licensing, audits, property management and Medicaid.
- Performs client care responsibilities including targeted case management, medication distribution, client transportation, etc.
- Coordinates with leadership to ensure shift coverage; provides on-call coverage as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Six months direct care experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Professional License/Certificate as required by job function, CPR certification, Valley de-escalation certification. Driving positions require a current Utah Driver’s license, must be 21.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree, any field of study.
- Two years of behavioural health experience.
- One year of supervisory experience.
